Onion Conveyors and Elevators for Handling Lines

Haith’s onion conveyors and elevators move the crop between intake, cleaning, inspection, grading and onward handling. Onions arriving from the field or storage may carry loose soil and skins, so the first connections need to suit the incoming crop as well as the position of the preparation equipment.

Connecting Intake with Onion Cleaning

Onion receiving machinery feeds the crop into the handling line. Conveyors can then carry onions toward onion cleaning machinery, where unwanted material is removed before later inspection. The infeed position and quantity of onions arriving help determine the route into that stage.

Routing Onions Through Inspection and Grading

After preparation, conveyors move onions through the inspection area and into onion grading machinery. When the crop is separated into several outputs, each grade needs a route to its next destination. The placement of downstream equipment therefore affects both the route through the grader and the connections leaving it.

Moving Each Output Onward

Depending on the operation, graded onions may move toward onion filling machinery or packing. Haith can configure the conveying route for those destinations within a new line or around existing machines.
